Ooni Takes 6th Wife

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has welcomed a new wife, Olori Opeoluwa Elizabeth Akinmuda. The traditional wedding ceremony took place on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Ooni’s palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Olori Opeoluwa Elizabeth Akinmuda, a 30-year-old medical doctor from Ondo State is said to be a Scotland-based Electronic Data Processor.
She is reported to have once worked with Ztech Global Ltd in the UK. She’s a devoted Christian and a strong believer in traditional Yoruba culture.

The Ooni’s marriage to Olori Opeoluwa Elizabeth Akinmuda is his sixth marriage

The Ooni has defended his decision to marry multiple wives, saying that it is a tradition in Yoruba culture. He has also said that his wives are all happy and that they are all treated equally.

The ceremony symbolized the official initiation of Olori Opeoluwa Elizabeth Akinmuda into the esteemed Ooni of Ife’s royal family. The Ooni of Ife, accompanied by his other queens, warmly received the new Queen as she made her way into the palace.
