Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has approved the payment of registration fees for the 55,000 public school students participating in the National Examination Council (NECO) in the State.
The governor gave the approval at a briefing to highlight his administration’s achievements in office twenty days after inauguration.
He noted that the initiative is to enable more students participate in the 2023 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
The Governor, who said that the move is part of his government’s plan to reposition the educational sector, which he said is the bedrock of development in any society urged the beneficiary to work hard and get good results in order to justify the huge investment made by the state government in their education.
“As a concerned Government, we must ensure that the progression of your educational pursuit is not stopped and I promptly approved the payment of the examination fees to 55,000 students across the state,” he said.
“You need to put in your best and remain committed so that you can come up with good results of the examination that can make the state and your family happy and proud of you.”
