The Kano State House of Assembly on Thursday confirmed seventeen out of the nineteen commissioner nominees, sent by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
This followed the adoption of a motion by the speaker of the house, Isma’il, during the plenary in Kano.
After careful deliberations, the House confirmed seventeen nominees, with the exception of Sheikh Tijjani Auwal and Hajiya Aisha Soji, who did not appear for screening as they are in Saudi Arabia for a holy pilgrimage, the House said.
Those confirmed include the Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdulsalam, Umar Haruna Doguwa, Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, Ladidi Garko, Yusuf Kofar Mata, Nasiru Sule Garo, and Halilu Dantiye.
Others were Ali Haruna Makoda, Abbas Sani Abbas, Danjuma Mahmud, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, Safiyanu Hamza, Haruna Isa Dederi, Bashir Ahmed, Musa Shanono, Taju Usman and Muhammad Digwal.
With the confirmation of the commissioner nominees by the State Assembly, the state government would assign portfolios and swear them in as members of the state executive council.
