Afrobeat star, Damini Ogulu, a.k.a Burna Boy won the award for Best International Act at the 2023 edition of Black Entertainment Awards on Sunday night.
Though Burna Boy was at the show when he was announced as the winner, his mother, Bose Ogulu, received the award on his behalf.
Burnaboy beat other nominees in the category including Ayra Starr, Stormzy, Aya Nakamura, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O, L7nnon, Tiakola and Uncle Waffles.
With this win, Burna Boy is now the most awarded person in the BET Awards’ “Best International Act” category. He has won it four times.
