JUST IN: President Tinubu Appoints New Chairman of National Hajj Commission

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman as the Executive Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). The announcement was made by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

Professor Usman is a distinguished scholar with academic credentials from two prestigious Islamic institutions: the University of Madinah and Peshawar University in Pakistan. His experience in Hajj operations is extensive, having previously served as the Chairman of the Kano State Pilgrims Board. Under his leadership, the board managed the largest quota of state pilgrims in the country with notable success.

The President has expressed his confidence in Professor Usman’s ability to lead NAHCON with integrity, transparency, and a strong commitment to national service. The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Senate.

This appointment reflects President Tinubu’s continued efforts to ensure effective leadership in key national institutions, particularly those that impact the lives of millions of Nigerians.
