The Director, North West Area Office (1) Kaduna of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr Kehinde Cole has urged Corps members to shun frivolous spendings and embrace financial literacy.
Cole gave the advice while addressing members of the 2024 Batch B, Stream 2 Corps members, who are currently having their orientation course at Yikpata camp, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.
He urged them to shun frivolous expenses and think of what they can legitimately do to earn more income.
The Director, emphasised on the need for corps members to acquire any skill of their interest during the orientation course, reiterating that Trainers on those skills come to camp at the expense of NYSC.
The NYSC boss added that the training on Skills Acquisition should not end on camp.
Cole, further advised the corps members to continue with the skills acquired even after their orientation.
The Director also charged the Corps members to shun night journey throughout their service year and even beyond.
Cole, used the medium to conveyed the goodwill message of the Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, who charged the corps members to be good ambassadors of their parents and even the country, Nigeria which they’re serving by shunning all forms of illegitimate gathering.
He implored them to ensure active participation in all the camp activities and other cardinal programmes of the scheme after the orientation course.
