Kwara Football Academy (KFA) has emerged the champions of the Hairsense Kwara Kiddies League Cup.
The KFA boys defeated Gidado Kids FA 2-0 in the final played on Friday evening.
Goals from Adekunle Samuel and Muhammed Abdulfatai in each half of the game was all that KFA needed to clinch the trophy.
Witnessed by top sports and football stakeholders in Kwara State, the final game lived up to its billings as both teams displayed grits and exceptional football artistry.
While Gidado Kids FA Skipper, Abdulrauf Saadudeen who scored two goals in the tournament won the Most Valuable Player, Abdullahi Tijani of Unicorns FA grabbed the highest goal scorer award on the heels of the three goals he notched while KFA’s Isaiah emerged the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
Speaking after the final, the sole sponsor of the tournament, Alhaji Ahmad Lawal who is the CEO of Hairsense Salon expressed his delight at the performance of both teams.
He said” The final was great one. I am truly delighted to see the quality of talents and the match. It shows that Kwara is truly blessed with a lot of talents and we will continue to do our best to develop them.
He noted that the sponsorship of the tournament is part of the corporate social responsibility of his Company, Hairsense Unisex Salon and will be staged annually.
Guests at the final match include the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Mogaji; Chairman of Kwara State Football Association, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Thuraya, Chairman of Ilorin West Local Football Council, Alhaji Owolabi Agbaji Wopa and Chairman of Asa Local Football Council, Alhaji Mujeeb Erubu.
Also at the event were the Vice President, North Central Zone of SWAN, Mallam Olayinka Owolewa; Chairman of Gidado FA, Alhaji Babatunde Afase, Former Technical Director of KFA, Sir Paul Odey and a host of others.
