The Kwara State Police Command has recovered a stolen Toyota Camry (Reg. No. APP 443 CX) reported missing from Lagos.
Acting on intelligence received from a motor spare parts dealer in Ipata-Oloje, Ilorin, detectives apprehended two suspects on 22nd November 2024 at about 6:00pm.
The suspects, Ganiyu Lawal (M, 43) of Babasoja, Gambari, Ilorin and Ademola Waheed (M, 45) of Sango Road, Ilorin, were intercepted with the vehicle.
During a thorough search of the car, a GSM number linked to the owner, Mr. Ajibade Abel of Badagry Road, Lagos, was found.
Upon contact, Mr. Abel confirmed the vehicle had been stolen from a parking lot in Lagos and that the case had been reported at Area ‘C’ Police Command, Surulere, Lagos.
The suspects admitted purchasing the vehicle for a suspiciously low price of ₦400,000 and intended to resell it in Ilorin for ₦1,000,000. Further investigations are underway to identify other accomplices and unravel the full extent of their criminal activities.
