It was a dramatic night in the NPFL Matchday 25 as Remo Stars snatched a late victory over Kwara United, securing all three points at the death.
Goals from Samuel Anakwe (79′) and Haruna Hadi (92′) ensured that Remo Stars remained top of the league table.
Despite showing great character and resilience, Kwara United lost concentration in the final moments, conceding first from a free kick and then from a defensive error, allowing the hosts to claim victory.
Reacting after the match, Coach Tunde Sanni expressed disappointment, describing the goals as “cheap”, adding that it was unfortunate for his team to lose focus in the closing minutes.
With this result, Kwara United drops to 9th place on the NPFL log and will look to bounce back when they host Abia Warriors next Wednesday in Ilorin.
