Olododo: A faithful muslim upholding Ramadan values and sanctity

The Kwara State Hon. Commissioner for Works and Transpor, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo is an amazing, brilliant, multi-talented gentleman with a light heart who carries himself with dignity, integrity and humility.

Through the practise of fasting, this month encourages us to reflect upon ourselves and our faith; practise patience, self-discipline, kindness and strengthen our bonds with our fellow humankind, alas, Hon. Olododo has consistently adherence to Ramadan ethos and values, an act that is best to known in the recent time.

He is a practising Muslim who was born into a Muslim family and had strict Islamic injunctions at a younger age and had imbibed lessons of Ramadan years ago while making it a way of life.

He is a thorough breed Islamic scholar, a professional Engineer, action packaged administrator per excellence whose vast imprint shows in all assignments entrusted to him by His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, (CON), Executive Governor of Kwara State, Chairman, Nigeria Governor’s Forum (NGF) and Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate.

Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo embraces the virtues of love and sacrifice not only at Ramadan, but as a way of life in his daily activities, interaction with fellow human beings and in carrying out his official responsibilities. He exhibits the fear of Allah, hardwork, sincere with sense of purpose in all activities/endeavours/interaction.

At Ramadan, the Honorable Commissioner functions optimally, working round the clock while observing his prayers regularly with a rosary in his pocket. You will hardly notice he is fasting because nothing really changes in terms of comportment, carriage and utterances.

Well dressed, very clean and neat in whatever outfit he choose to wear to office, site(s), very welcoming, entertaining and cheerful with the labour gang/artisans/supervisors. He is a mirror of what Allah SWT preaches at Ramadan period and in our daily life activities. Ramadan is a 30 days fasting period when Muslims are forbidden from eating or drinking from sunset till evening.

This season is mainly to strengthen religion bond, feed the soul and mind with spirituality in prayers and deeds. While caring for vulnerable, half-nots, less privileged in the society in terms of alms-giving, provision of foods and Iftar and other basic needs. These 30 days sharing of happiness and caring while nourishing families in Allah’s message.

What really compel me to write this piece is the amazing lifestyle of Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo during Ramadan to serve as a lesson to our people particularly top shots in government and in corporate world, that we are all one before our creator and we must humble ourselves as we are from the dust and to dust we belong.

Over the years, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo has demonstrated an uncommon and remarkable leadership style, which earn him respect from all and sundry. The pivotal role his ministry plays in the Ilorin renewal development programme is very laudable and appreciable.

Truly, Ilorin Metropolis has been transformed under the wise guidance of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, (CON), the Sarduana of Ilorin Emirate and the APC led administration in the state. This journalist had a brief chat with the Honorable Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo after a Tafsir session recently.

He said, “Kwarans in general must be united beyond political lines and be more vigilant in order to get dividends of democracy to individual and our respective communities in the state of Harmony – Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is stoically committed in the task ahead of him.
“He needs our prayers, support and diligent followership, Insha Allah he will take us to the promise land”, he assured.

Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, a politician, an entrepreneur with an insatiable quest for achievements, colourful bureaucrat, well focussed, result driven manager of resources, immensely brimful of vision, reliable and trustworthy public servant.
