Kwara United clinch Federation Cup, deal Continental Spot

It was a dramatic and memorable moments as Kwara United FC of Ilorin closed out the 2024/25 football season on a historic high, etching their name into the annals of Nigerian football with a memorable campaign that delivered silverware, continental qualification and topflight survival.

Harmony Boys clinched the prestigious President Federation Cup title after edging out a determined Abakaliki FC side in a dramatic final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

The match ended in a tense goalless draw, but Kwara United held their nerves to emerge victorious 4–3 on penalties, sending their passionate supporters into rapturous celebrations.

The Federation Cup triumph secured Kwara United a CAF Confederation Cup ticket, marking a return to the continental stage and reigniting football pride in Kwara State.

Despite enduring a challenging league campaign, the Harmony Boys did just enough to survive relegation, finishing 14th on the NPFL 26 standings, thereby retaining their topflight status in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
