The Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has established a Patient Medical Assistance Trust Fund aimed at providing timely financial support to patients who cannot afford essential medical care in state-owned hospitals.
According to a statement obtained by THE PRIME NEWS, signed by the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board (KWHMB), Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, the initiative is designed to ensure that no patient in state hospitals is denied treatment due to financial hardship.
The Trust Fund will mobilize resources through donations from corporate organizations, social responsibility initiatives, and individual contributions. The funds will be channeled into covering critical treatments, surgeries, and medications for indigent patients.

Dr. Malik noted that the establishment of the Trust Fund demonstrates the AbdulRazaq administration’s commitment to equity, compassion, and improved access to healthcare for all residents of the state.
