Court stops Kwara Community, Oro, from holding anniversary

An High Court, sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State has granted an interim injunction restraining the Oloro of Oro District, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye, John Olalekan Adefila, lsmael Abiodun Aribidesi and their agents, privies, servants from celebrating Oro Day 2025.

The court further restrained the Oloro of Oro District, his chiefs, Adefila, Aribidesi and any other authority through them from making further publication or publicity titled; “Oro Day 2025/One Year Coronation Anniversary” on Facebook or any other social media platforms pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice brought by Oro Community.

In a related development, an Ilorin High Court on Monday 24th November, 2025, granted an application from Oro Community for a substituted service and FORM 48, after series of evasion, on Oloro of Oro District, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye and his privies.

The court ordered Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye to forthwith stop the use of Oro Kingdom on his seal, title, awarded honorary titles, signposts and other related or allied title including all the towns in Oro District using Oro Kingdom as suffix to their names.
