Lent, Ramadan: Kwara APC Chieftain, Deway urges spiritual rejuvenation

As Christians and Muslims begin the Lenten and Ramadan fasting seasons, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has called for spiritual rejuvenation among Nigerians.

Deway made the call in a statement he released on Wednesday through his Special Assistant on Media, Adebayo Olodan.

The cosmopolitan businessman said, “l am particularly excited that Lenten and the holy month of Ramadan are here again. Interestingly, both Christians and Muslims are embarking on Lenten and Ramadan at the same time.

“I therefore urge adherents of both faiths to seize this period for spiritual rejuvenation. It is a time for both my Christian and Muslim brothers and sisters to connect deeply with their God without any distractions.

“At such a time, we must act pure, show love and kindness to our family, colleagues and neighbours. We must however avoid making unguarded utterances and denigrating anyone.

“Meanwhile, as we experience another holy month, l urge us all to remember Kwara and other troubled states in your prayers. The recent massacre by insurgents in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State is indeed a sad one hence we should all pray for our security agents to overcome our common enemies.

“May Allah accept our fasting, prayers and good deeds and grant us strength and courage throughout the blessed month of Lenten and Ramadan.
