The Chief Executive Officer of JAFAK Initiative and sponsor of JAFAK Cup – the most anticipated grassroots football competition in the state – Prince Lanre Fakayode is backing Kwara United to escape the dreaded relegation in the 2025/2026 NPFL Season.
The successful businessman made the charge in a statement he released at the weekend to the media.
He said, “It is quite unfortunate that the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Season is not going according to plan for for our darling team, Kwara United.

In fact the last few weeks have been a very tough one as Kwara Utd could only amass two points in four matches.
“The crowd violence after the 1-1 at home to Rivers Utd is indeed regrettable but rather than dwelling in what would have been, it is time for every stakeholder to get behind the team in order to swim out of the relegation zone.”
Speaking further, Prince Lanre, who is the son of former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Match Commissioner and ex-Kwara United Chairman, Sir (Prince) Joseph Aranloye Fakayode, said with 11 matches left to play, Kwara United stand a huge chance to beat the drop at the end of the season.
He however called on the players and technical crew to be focused and make enormous sacrifice in order to achieve the desired results in subsequent matches.
“From the log, only six points separate the last 7 teams and that means if United can get at least six points in their next three matches, the team may be out of relegation. With 11 matches left to play, the season is far from over but the players and the coaches must approach the next matches with all seriousness.”
Fakayode also charged the management led by Mr Kumbi Titiloye and the supporters to provide unwavering support at this crucial stage.
“With the team now playing their home matches at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, Kwara Utd will need all the support that they can get from the State Government, the management and fans. I however believe that with the desired commitment, Kwara United will survive the dreaded relegation at the end of the season.
