Care for the needy during Ramadan, Emirate Secretary urges Muslims

The Private Secretary to HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR and Secretary, Ilorin Emirate Council Alhaji Sunmail Adetunji Lawal has passionately urged Muslims in the Emirate Council in particular & Muslims in general to care and feed the needy during Ramadan, describing it as period of increased charity, piety, love and compassion.

He made the plead in a short interview with Global Prime News in his office at the Emir’s Palace, Oja-Oba, Ilorin.

According to the administrator, Almighty Allah will reward those who provide food to fasting Muslims with equal benefit, without diminishing the reward of the fasting Muslims.

“As the fasting is getting halfway, I therefore encourage us to endeavor to provide food to people, especially to the less privileged “he advised.

Alhaji Lawal emphasized that feeding the hungry strengthen faith and promotes social harmony, calling on wealthy individuals to support vulnerable groups, including orphans, needy, widows, less-privileged and youths.

The Islamic Scholar cited the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) exemplary attitude of increasing charity during Ramadan.

While assuring that acts of kindness during Ramadan attract multiple blessings, Adetunji Lawal said Almighty Allah had pledged abundant rewards especially those observing the fast.

According to the Emirate Secretary, feeding the hungry is not only a moral responsibility but also a spiritual investment that strengthens faith and promotes social harmony within the society.

“My message to the wealthy individuals/government/agencies/Islamicfoundations is they extend helping hands to vulnerable groups, families, including orphans, widows, physically challenged and needy to ease their hardship during fasting period”.

“I also urge the faithful to embrace generosity and selflessness throughout the holy month. Ramadan is a unique opportunity for self-reflection to earn divine mercy with forgiveness through service to humanity”, the Emirate Secretary, Alhaji Sunmail Adetunji Lawal noted.
