Kwara 2027: “I am best qualified to lead the State – Prof. Wale Sulaiman

By Ahmed Olayinka

A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State for the 2027 elections, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, has expressed strong confidence in his capacity to lead the state, declaring that he is the most qualified candidate for the position.

Prof. Sulaiman made the assertion on Saturday during a media parley held at his residence in Ilorin, where he highlighted his extensive experience at both international and national levels.

“With my exposure and interactions at the international and national levels, I believe I am the most qualified person to run the affairs of Kwara State,” he said.

While acknowledging the prevailing security challenges in Nigeria, the professor noted that the nation’s economy is gradually moving in a positive direction. He also commended the efforts of the current administration in Kwara State.

According to him, the state requires a leader with strong administrative competence who can consolidate on the progress already made.

“As governance continues, we must focus on individuals with the administrative knowledge and experience needed to sustain the good work already being done.

“I possess the necessary experience and command the respect required to tackle the challenges before us,” he added.

Prof. Sulaiman emphasized the importance of job creation and education, noting that opportunities in both the public and private sectors, as well as through international partnerships, must be explored to boost employment.

“We must be able to create jobs in both the public and private sectors and leverage international partnerships,” he said.

Reflecting on his personal journey, he credited opportunities provided during the administration of former Lagos State governor, Lateef Jakande, for shaping his path.

“I am here today because of the opportunity I had during the Jakande administration in Lagos. I dream of a Kwara where the child of nobody can become somebody,” he stated.

The aspirant also expressed optimism about the state’s economic potential, particularly in agriculture and infrastructure, noting that thousands of jobs could be created in both sectors.

He further commended the performance of the APC at both federal and state levels, stressing that the party remains the best platform for Nigeria’s development.

“I am impressed with what the APC is doing at both the federal and state levels. There is no alternative to the APC,” he said.

Prof. Sulaiman also urged Kwarans to take advantage of federal government initiatives, including the student loan scheme, to improve access to education in the state.
