A candidate seeking the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship nomination for Kwara State in the 2027 elections, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, has conveyed his confidence in his candidacy, asserting that he is the most suitable individual for the role.

During a media parley held at his residence in Ilorin on Saturday, he underscored his extensive international and national experience.

“With my interaction both at the international and the national level, I believe I am the most qualified to run the affairs of Kwara State” he stated.

While acknowledging the security challenges facing Nigeria, he noted that the economy is progressing in a positive direction and commended the efforts of the current governor.

He said the state requires someone who can sustain this trajectory, highlighting the importance of administrative expertise, saying that he has what it takes.

He asserted that he possesses the necessary experience and respect to address challenges, with a focus on job creation and education.

“As we continue to govern, we need to look at people who have the administrative knowledge to continue the good work.

“And I have the prerequisite experience and I command a lot of respect to tackle these challenges.

“We must be able to create jobs both in the public and private sector and international partnerships.

“We must educate our people. I am here today due to the opportunity I have through the Jakande administration in Lagos.

“I dream of a Kwara where the child of nobody must become somebody” he stated.

Speaking further, he said, we have the potential to create thousands of jobs in the realms of agriculture and infrastructure.

He said he is impressed with what the APC is doing both at the Federal and in the state level, pointing out that, “there is no alternative for the APC”.

Sulaiman advocated for the utilization of federal opportunities, such as the student loan scheme, for the benefit of Kwara.
