Bandits kidnap two female passengers in Kwara community

Armed bandits have abducted two female passengers in Bacita community, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The incident occurred on Monday when the commercial vehicle conveying the victims reportedly developed a mechanical fault in Bacita town, leaving the passengers stranded.

According to security sources, the vehicle had departed from Niger State en route to Osun State before breaking down at Bacita Junction.

“A passenger vehicle travelling from Niger State to Osun State developed a mechanical fault at Bacita Junction, and two female passengers were subsequently abducted by suspected bandits,” the source disclosed.

THE PRIME NEWS gathered that operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bacita Division, have intensified efforts to secure the release of the victims.

The operatives are said to be working in collaboration with other security agencies, including the Jebba formation, to track down the perpetrators, rescue the abducted passengers, and bring those responsible to justice.

Security presence has also been reinforced in and around Bacita, with surveillance heightened and strategic areas cordoned off to prevent further criminal activities and support ongoing operations against the bandits.
