The management of Kwara United has acknowledged the issue of unpaid entitlements owed to former players, with the club’s chairman, Mr Kunbi Titiloye, actively engaging with relevant stakeholders to address the matter.
In a statement released by the club’s Media Officer, Ayodeji Ismail, Mr Titiloye responded to reports circulating about the management’s debt to some former players.
He clarified that the unpaid sign-on fees of the affected players largely predate the current management.
“Regardless, club management is a continuum, and we are working towards solving the problem,” Titiloye stated. He also appealed to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to assist in settling the debts completely.
“We are aware of your unfortunate situation and believe our sports-loving and workaholic Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, will sort the issues very soon,” he added.
Kwara United is gearing up for the 2024/25 NPFL season, having officially resumed training on Monday.
Mr. Titiloye also confirmed the club’s participation in the 2024 Valuejet Preseason tournament in Ikenne, Ogun State.
