A former Kwara South Senatorial aspirant, Otunba Olabode Oyedepo (Deway) has announced his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former Sole Administrator of Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency (KWARMA), announced his defection in a statement he issued on Wednesday through his Special Assistant on Media, Adebayo Olodan.
The statement reads in part, “After deep reflection, extensive consultations with my supporters, and a careful analysis of the direction of our dear state (Kwara), I Otunba Olabode Oyedepo, a former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have decided to formally renounce my membership of the APC and join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“My decision is personal moral conviction and yearning to return to a party that prioritizes internal democracy, purposeful leadership and genuine welfare of the people. While in the APC, I found myself and supporters in a ‘sabbatical journey’ that offered no tangible growth for my constituents. The party has, unfortunately, become a platform of unfulfilled promises and, at the state and local level, a closed circle that stifles progress.
“I am joining the PDP with thousands of my supporters across Kwara South to lend my experience to the task of rejuvenating the party and ensuring victory in upcoming elections.
This is a homecoming to a party that has kept faith with the people. I pledge to work tirelessly with leaders of the PDP to build a stronger, more united party.”
