The Kwara State Police Command has intensified security arrangements ahead of the Easter celebrations, deploying personnel to key locations across the state to ensure a peaceful and incident-free festivity, THE PRIME NEWS reports.
The Command said the proactive measure is aimed at protecting lives and property, as well as maintaining law and order throughout the celebration period.

In a statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the police outlined details of the security plan.
According to the statement, officers have been strategically stationed at churches, event centres, highways, recreational facilities, and other public places expected to attract large crowds.
It added that patrol teams and tactical units have also been mobilised to provide adequate security coverage and rapid response to any emerging situation.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Adekimi Ojo, assured residents that the Command is fully prepared to guarantee a safe and secure Easter celebration.
“We have deployed adequate personnel to critical areas across the state and remain committed to protecting lives and property before, during and after the festivities,” he said.
He further directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and heads of tactical units to step up visibility policing and sustain intelligence-driven operations in their respective jurisdictions.
THE PRIME NEWS reports that the police commissioner also emphasised the need for collaboration with community and religious leaders to enhance security coordination and ensure effective protection of worshippers and residents.
While urging officers to maintain professionalism and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties, the Command called on residents to remain vigilant and security-conscious.
Members of the public were advised to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency lines.
Parents and guardians were also urged to keep a close watch on their children during the festive period.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to public safety and wished Christian faithful a peaceful and joyful Easter celebration.
