The Executive Chairman of Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hon. Chief James Abiodun Fadipe, has congratulated the Oloota of Odo-Owa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Joshua Oluwatoba Adeyemi Adimula, on the recent court ruling dismissing a contempt application brought against the revered monarch.
The ruling, delivered by Justice Mahmud Gafar of the Kwara State High Court, dismissed the committal proceedings instituted by Professor Isaac Abiodun Adimula and other claimants against the monarch and several defendants.
The claimants had alleged that the traditional ruler violated an earlier court order by conferring honourary chieftaincy titles on distinguished individuals during activities marking his 10th coronation anniversary.
Reacting to the development, Hon. Chief Fadipe described the court’s decision as a reaffirmation of the respected traditional institution and the lawful authority vested in the Oloota of Odo-Owa noting that the judgment underscores the importance of due process and the rule of law in resolving disputes.
According to the Council Chairman, the dismissal of the contempt case strengthens the monarch’s position in recognizing and encouraging individuals whose contributions have significantly impacted the growth and development of Odo-Owa and the wider Oke-Ero community.
”His Royal Majesty has consistently demonstrated visionary leadership and an unwavering commitment to the advancement of Odo-Owa. The conferment of honourary chieftaincy titles and awards on deserving sons, daughters, and friends of the community serves as a powerful incentive for greater service, philanthropy, and community development,” Hon. Fadipe stated.
The Chairman commended the monarch for his dedication to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Odo-Owa while fostering unity, peace and progress among the people. He also praised the traditional ruler’s efforts in mobilizing support for developmental initiatives that have positively transformed the community over the years.
Hon. Fadipe urged all stakeholders, including members of the royal family, community leaders, and residents, to embrace peace and continue supporting the monarch’s developmental vision for Odo-Owa and Oke-Ero Local Government as a whole.
