The Kwara State Police Command and the Federal Fire Service, Kwara State Command, have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration, information sharing and emergency response mechanisms to enhance the protection of lives and property across the state, THE PRIME NEWS reports.

The statement was signed by SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, ANIPR, Police Public Relations Officer, Kwara State Command, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.

The commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the newly appointed Controller of the Federal Fire Service, Kwara State Command, ACF Ibrahim Adisa Sarafadeen, to the Commissioner of Police, CP Ojo Adekimi, at the Police Command.

Sarafadeen, who assumed office on July 20, 2026, acknowledged the strategic role of the Nigeria Police Force in effective emergency management and expressed his determination to deepen the existing relationship between both agencies.

He said improved communication, operational support and sustained cooperation would enhance the ability of the two agencies to respond effectively to emergencies and protect members of the public.

Responding, CP Ojo Adekimi assured the Federal Fire Service of the Police Command’s continued cooperation, stressing that effective public safety requires security and emergency response agencies to work together with a shared purpose.

THE PRIME NEWS reports that police commissioner particularly commended the Fire Service for recently conducting fire emergency response training for police personnel, describing the initiative as an important step towards strengthening operational preparedness and institutional resilience.

Both agencies agreed to sustain a partnership focused on rapid communication, joint preparedness and complementary operational capabilities.

They also emphasised that institutional boundaries should not hinder effective intervention whenever lives and property are at risk.

The renewed collaboration is expected to further strengthen emergency response coordination and improve public safety across Kwara State.
