Shettima to commission Kwara Garment Factory, Revenue House as Gov AbdulRazaq receives Sardauna title

Vice President Kashim Shettima will on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, commission two major projects in Ilorin as part of activities surrounding the turbaning of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as the Sardauna of Ilorin.

The projects to be commissioned are the Kwara Garment Factory and the 11-storey Kwara Revenue House, which will serve as the headquarters of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service.

The garment factory, one of the flagship projects of the AbdulRazaq administration, is projected to create more than 4,000 direct jobs when it reaches full multi-shift production capacity.

The state government said over 500 workers had already been recruited and trained for the initial phase of operations.

The Kwara Revenue House, according to the government, was funded through savings from consultancy fees that would otherwise have been paid to external revenue-collection consultants.

The government said the two facilities are among more than 30 capital projects being executed across the state.

Following the commissioning ceremonies, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, will formally confer the Sardauna of Ilorin title on Governor AbdulRazaq at the Emir’s Palace.

The turbaning ceremony is scheduled to commence at 10 a.m., while a reception will subsequently be held at the Atlantic Events Palace in Ilorin.

The Emir said the title was being conferred on AbdulRazaq in recognition of his leadership, commitment to peace and unity, and developmental initiatives recorded under his administration.

The state government said governors, ministers, heads of federal and state government agencies, traditional rulers, security chiefs, Ilorin Emirate title holders and political leaders are expected to attend the ceremonies.
