New dawn in Kwara OAIC as Adeboye takes over leadership from Popoola

It was a dawn in the affairs of Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), Kwara State Chapter when the Christian body held its fourth inauguration and investiture of new officers to run their affairs.

In a well attended service held at Resolution Church of Christ (RCC), Ilorin, was coordinated by the Chairman of the 19 Northern States, Bishop (Dr.) R.B.C. Nwankwo who started by dissolving all the existing three tiers of the executives; the State Executive, Women Wing and the Youth Wing of the organizing.

Shortly after dissolving the outgoing executives, Bishop Okonkwo reeled out all the elected executive members representing the three tiers of the organisation in the State and blessed them accordingly as a mark of their official inauguration and power of commission to serve in the affairs of OAIC.

Evangelist Thomas Oluleye Adeboye, the immediate past first vice chairman of the organisation was inaugurated as the new Chairman of OAIC, Kwara State chapter, leading other ten members of executives, they include; Bishop Dr. Aliu T. Joseph (first Vice Chairman); Special Apostle G.B. Afolayan (Second Vice Chairman); Special Apostle Pastor J.O. Oyinloye, PH.D (General Secretary) and Rev. Lawrence O. Glory (Financial Secretary).

Others include; AVSE Fakutiju Daniel (PRO); Rev. Mother A.K. Olobatoke (Women Director); Apostle Samson O. Ayeni (Treasurer); Deborah T. Lawal (Auditor); Pastor Obafemi Fafowora (Legal Adviser) and Special Apostle Prophet S.A. Oyeniyi (Youth Chairman).

Also inaugurated was the 7-women executive members led by Rev. Mother A.K. Olobatoke as President/Women Director. The remaining members include; Senior Mother-in-Israel Victoria T. Dada (Assistant Director Project); Deaconess Olubisi O. Ojo (Assistant Director); Mother-in-Israel Rachael Idowu (Assistant Director Children); Lace Superior Senior Elder Sister A. Yisau (Women Secretary); Special Mother-in-Israel Alice A. Idowu (Treasurer) and Deaconess Queen G. Ademola (Welfare).

The youth wing of organisation led by Special Apostle Prophet S.A. Oyeniyi was also inaugurated at the occasion. Prophet Oyeniyi will run his tenure as the fourth Youth leader/Chairman with other five member executives.

Other executive members of the youth wing inaugurated include; Evang. Jimoh Michael O. (first Vice Chairman); Special Venerable Most Senior Evang. F. Daniel (Second Vice Chairman); Evang. Michael O. Faniran (General Secretary); Hon. Evang. Samson Omogoye (Welfare Director) and Lady Aladura Fafowora Victoria (Treasurer).

Bishop Okonkwo, who represented the Nigeria Regional President of the organisation, His Eminence Baba Aladura Elder Israel Akinadewo, prayed for the newly inaugurated executive members for God’s support and power to guide them in the new assignment while also tasking them to be ready to do the work which they have been elected for.

He equally prayed for the outgoing executives, asking God to repay their labour of love in the vineyard of God.

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman, pledged to work as a team player with every stakeholder, including his executive members, while promising to take the organisation to far greater heights by picking up from where his predecessor stopped.

He therefore sought for the cooperation of members of the organisation, particularly the Celestial Chuch of Christ (CCC) whom he is representing in the OAIC.

Speaking earlier, the outgoing Chairman, Special Apostle Moses A. Popoola, gave testimonies of more than a decade of being in the saddle of the organisation, charging the incoming Chairman to be ready to travel far and wide as one of the responsibilities of State leader.

One of the founding fathers of the organisation in the State and the current Chairman of North Central Region of the body, Primate Dr. M.S. Olobatoke, charged the new executive members to be ready for the great task ahead, while enjoining them to work in unity and as well do everything possible to carry everybody along in their activities.
