Tinubu orders Military to crush Terrorists, Bandits, Separatists without hesitation

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to take firm and immediate action against terrorists, bandits, insurgents, and separatist groups threatening Nigeria’s peace and unity.

Speaking through Vice President Kashim Shettima at the grand finale of the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) in Kaduna on Sunday, Tinubu gave clear orders to the military. “The time to rise is now. You have my full authorisation and the trust of the Nigerian people,” he declared.

The President described the growing threats as existential, warning that violent groups “do not discriminate, hey destroy churches and mosques alike, and orphan children without asking their tribe or faith.”

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the armed forces through sustained investment in weapons systems, intelligence gathering, and personnel development.

Paying tribute to fallen and wounded soldiers, Tinubu said their sacrifices would never be forgotten. “Their blood will not be shed in vain; their memory will endure through generations,” he added.

Tinubu also commended the support of military families and organisations like NAOWA and NASWA, acknowledging their vital role in sustaining troop morale.

In his remarks, Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede highlighted the Army’s long history, beginning in 1863, and its focus on soldier welfare and training under this year’s NADCEL theme.

The event featured military displays and drew dignitaries including former Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon, Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru, service chiefs, lawmakers, and traditional rulers.
