Burna Boy recently opened up about his music inspirations while hanging out with tennis legend Roger Federer. The two stars met in Zurich, Switzerland, through a partnership with ON, a Swiss sportswear brand.
In a candid conversation centered around “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time) talks, Federer asked Burna Boy who he considered as his GOAT singers. Without hesitation, Burna Boy replied, “My GOAT singers are mostly Fuji artistes like the Fuji legend, Saheed Osupa.”
This revelation wasn’t just a name-drop. Burna Boy’s admiration for Saheed Osupa has been subtly highlighted before. Fans may recall a Saheed Osupa CD appearing in the music video for “Way Too Big” off Burna’s Twice As Tall album, a subtle nod to the artist’s enduring influence on Burna’s sound and style.

Burna Boy asked the same question to Federer, curious about the tennis great’s own GOAT music icons. Federer’s list leaned into timeless classics, as he named Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, and Freddie Mercury as his all-time greats.
