A late-night fire outbreak on Wednesday razed a vehicle at E-Phoenix Hotel, located at Tanke Junction in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The Kwara State Fire Service confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Thursday by its Public Relations Officer, Hassan Adekunle, noting that firefighters responded swiftly to contain the situation.

According to the statement, the emergency call was received at about 11:38 p.m. on April 29, 2026, prompting immediate deployment of personnel to the scene.
THE PRIME NEWS gathered that the fire involved a Honda Accord with registration number DTH 753 AA, with the blaze largely confined to the engine compartment before it was brought under control.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire by approximately 12:15 a.m., successfully preventing it from spreading to nearby vehicles and parts of the hotel premises.
Preliminary investigations suggested that the fire may have been caused by a spark from the vehicle’s electrical wiring, which ignited flammable components within the engine area.
Reacting to the incident, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Alabi Muhammed, advised motorists to prioritise regular maintenance of their vehicles, particularly electrical systems, to reduce the risk of similar occurrences.
He urged vehicle owners to avoid makeshift repairs, promptly address faulty wiring, and equip their cars with basic firefighting tools such as portable extinguishers for quick response in emergencies.
The Fire Service reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, stressing the importance of timely intervention in minimising damage during fire incidents.
THE PRIME NEWS reports that the latest incident adds to a series of recent fire outbreaks recorded in parts of Ilorin and its environs, raising concerns over recurring fire emergencies in the state.
