Women from across the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State, under the platform of the Kwara State Powerful Women Support Group, have thrown their weight behind the governorship aspiration of Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON, describing him as a symbol of inclusive leadership and people-oriented development.
The endorsement was contained in a statement issued by the State Women Coordinator of the group, Mrs. Nifemi Isaiah, who said the decision followed what she described as Prof. Sulaiman’s consistent commitment to humanitarian service, women empowerment and sustainable development across the state.
According to the group, their support is rooted in the desire for leadership that prioritises impact, inclusiveness and long-term progress rather than temporary political gestures.

They noted that Prof. Sulaiman has maintained strong engagement with women across different sectors, including market women, widows, entrepreneurs, professionals and young girls.
She added that his interaction with communities across the state reflects accessibility and responsiveness to the needs of ordinary people.
The group stressed that women remain central to family and community development, noting that policies and leadership that support women ultimately contribute to broader social and economic growth.
Members also commended Prof. Sulaiman’s advocacy for unity and inclusive politics, describing it as essential for maintaining peace and stability in a diverse state like Kwara.
They said his ability to connect with different communities and bridge political and ethnic divides positions him as a unifying figure ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, the Kwara Central Coordinator of the group, Mrs. Aminat Kehinde Nurudeen, said their endorsement goes beyond politics and reflects confidence in leadership built on competence, integrity and compassion.
She noted that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, has laid a strong developmental foundation in the state and stressed the need for continuity through capable leadership, adding that competence should take precedence over ethnic considerations in determining the next governor of the state.
The women group reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising support for Prof. Wale Sulaiman across all 16 local government areas ahead of the APC governorship primaries, expressing confidence in his vision for inclusive growth and sustainable development in Kwara State.
