Thousands of residents from across Kwara State on Saturday staged a massive solidarity rally in support of the 2027 governorship aspiration of Wale Sulaiman, as political momentum continues to build around his candidacy.

The rally, which drew participants from different age groups, ethnic backgrounds, and religious affiliations, was described by observers as one of the largest grassroots political gatherings witnessed in the state in recent months.

Supporters flooded major streets carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs in what organisers said was aimed at promoting the vision of the “Kwara Prosperity Agenda,” a development blueprint centered on unity, inclusive growth, human capital development and sustainable prosperity.

Speaking during the rally, several supporters pledged to mobilise across the three senatorial districts to ensure the emergence of Prof. Sulaiman as the next governor of Kwara State.

Many participants described the renowned neurosurgeon and philanthropist as a candidate whose track record in healthcare, education and empowerment initiatives has continued to resonate with ordinary citizens across the state.

A community leader at the rally said the growing support for Prof. Sulaiman reflects increasing public demand for competence-driven leadership.

“This movement is beyond politics. People are looking at vision, capacity and the ability to deliver meaningful development. Prof. Wale Sulaiman has demonstrated these qualities over the years,” he said.

The Kwara Prosperity Agenda, which has remained central to the aspirant’s political message, focuses on economic revitalisation, youth empowerment, agricultural development, improved healthcare delivery and expanded opportunities for residents.

Political observers believe the increasing grassroots mobilisation around Prof. Sulaiman signals his growing influence ahead of the 2027 governorship race, with support reportedly cutting across political and regional divides.

The rally ended with participants chanting, “Together for a Greater Kwara,” a slogan supporters say symbolises their hope for a new phase of leadership and development in the state.
