Prince Olalekan Adewoye has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Kwara South, cruising victorious from a highly competitive 11-man primary with a commanding lead that left his closest rivals well behind.
Pending the official announcement from the national secretariat, information authoritatively gathered from across the seven local government of the just concluded APC Senatorial Primary Election in Kwara South indicates a landslide victory for Olalekan Adewoye.
Official results sighted by our reporters across all the seven local government areas that make up the district show Adewoye polling 65,256 votes, more than double the combined tallies of his two nearest challengers.

Faridah Dankaka came second with 24,277 votes, while incumbent Senator Lola Ashiru, who was seeking re-election, placed third with 21,001 votes.
It was reported that the APC conducted primary elections for all three senatorial districts in Kwara State on Tuesday, May 18, 2026. In Kwara South, eleven party members, men and women, stepped forward to contest the ticket ahead of the 2027 general election.

Adewoye’s strongest showing came in Isin, where he polled 11,922 votes. His slimmest margin was in Irepodun, where he still managed 6,725 votes, well enough to maintain a clear lead across the board. Nurudeen Adeyemi finished fourth with 13,654 votes, followed by Olabode Odetunde with 6,157, Alabaja Kazeem with 1,699, and Gbenga Makanjuola with 1,523.
Further down the table, Shola Ajimoti placed eighth with 746 votes, Olutola Onijala ninth with 152, Olatunde Samuel tenth with 71, and Adeleke Gbenga at the foot of the table with just 15 votes.
Observers at the polls reported that voting proceeded peacefully across all seven local government areas.
