Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer, has named top England stars who would be omitted from Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad.
He believes that Arsenal star, Myles Lewis-Skelly will be among the notable exclusions from Thomas Tuchel’s England World Cup roster.
Lewis-Skelly netted the inaugural goal of the Tuchel era last March against Albania; however, he has found himself omitted from the squad in recent international breaks due to a decrease in playing time at Arsenal.

Nevertheless, the young player has experienced a revival towards the end of the season under Mikel Arteta, replacing Martin Zubimendi and starting in central midfield alongside Declan Rice for crucial matches during the season’s conclusion.
This adaptability could prove beneficial for England this summer, yet Shearer believes that Lewis-Skelly may not have done enough to secure a place in Tuchel’s squad, which is expected to be revealed on Friday.
He told Metro, “Tuchel has utilized Hall and Livramento in a left-back role as well, so my prediction is that two of the three will be selected.
“Nico O’Reilly is someone I believe will certainly be included, and then it will be a choice between either Livramento, who could play left, or Lewis Hall.”
Regarding Lewis-Skelly, Shearer said, “I think he hasn’t played much football this season; he has just re-entered the squad, into the midfield, and he has been outstanding.
“However, whether that has been sufficient to earn him a spot in the left-back position or midfield, I doubt it.”
One individual who seems certain to be excluded from the squad is Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire, who took to social media to express his concerns regarding his likely omission.
Shearer also speculated whether Dan Burn’s additional time spent with Tuchel during England camps, in contrast to Maguire, might have been a decisive factor.
Shearer added, “Well, I believe Konsa and Guehi are assured selections.
“I think he will include John Stones due to his experience, and he has already expressed his admiration for him.
“So then it would be between Dan and Harry Maguire, and I might guess, and it’s only a guess, that he might opt for Dan. I think just because he’s had him in camp, he knows what he brings to the camp and that’s perhaps why he might edge it.”
There are reports that high-profile names such as Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Morgan Gibbs-White are set to miss out on the England squad for this summer’s tournament.
