The Kwara State chapter of the City Boy Movement, a youth-driven support group advocating the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the victory of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 general elections, has held a strategic meeting aimed at strengthening party structures and mobilising grassroots support across the state.

The event, which took place today (Tuesday) at the group’s state secretariat, was attended by the Special Assistant on Students Affairs to the Kwara State Governor, Hon. Salami Wasiu Onidugbe, APC stakeholders, local government coordinators, secretaries and ward executives drawn from the 16 local government areas of the state.

Speaking at the gathering, the Director of the City Boy Movement in Kwara State, Alhaji Baba AbdulRazaq, described the group’s mission as a collective responsibility driven by dedication, strategic coordination and a clear vision for the future.

He noted that while some of the policies of the current administration were already producing visible results, others would require patience, consistency and sustained public support to achieve their full impact. He urged Nigerians, particularly residents of Kwara State, to remain steadfast and optimistic.
Also addressing participants, the State Coordinator of the movement, Hon. Abdullahi AbdulFatahi Ajia, praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, whom he described as the patron of the movement, for his developmental strides and infrastructural achievements across the state.

According to Ajia, the movement remains committed to working with party leaders, ward structures and stakeholders to achieve its objectives ahead of the 2027 elections.
“We are committed to securing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and ensuring the continued success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State,” he said.
He added that Governor AbdulRazaq’s performance in infrastructure development and governance had earned him widespread commendation among residents.

Ajia further stated that the strength of the City Boy Movement lies in its growing grassroots presence and active engagement with communities across the state.
“We are not bystanders; we are part of the system we seek to improve. Our connection with the people enables us to mobilise effectively, communicate clearly and remain aligned with the needs and expectations of citizens,” he said.

The coordinator also commended President Tinubu for what he described as bold leadership and determination in addressing long-standing national challenges while laying the foundation for economic stability and growth.
“This is not the time to waver. It is the time to stand firmly behind a leadership committed to long-term progress,” Ajia noted.
He reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to its goals, assuring supporters that it would continue to engage residents and strengthen its grassroots network across the state.

“We will stay the course, remain connected to the people and work tirelessly towards achieving our collective aspirations,” he added.
In her remarks, the State Women Coordinator of the movement, Hajia Abbas Zainab, described the City Boy Movement as a vibrant grassroots organisation that continues to expand its reach across communities in Kwara State.

She reaffirmed the commitment of women within the movement to mobilising support for all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Similarly, the State Youth Leader, Hon. Muktar Afonja, applauded the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for its achievements in the education sector and other areas of development.

He expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the next general election and prayed for victory for the APC at all levels in 2027.
The programme ended with a renewed call on party members and residents of Kwara State to remain united, support the APC-led administrations and work collectively towards ensuring electoral success in the forthcoming elections.
