Hijrah 1448 AH: Wale Sulaiman urges Muslims to embrace faith, righteousness

Prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and renowned neurosurgeon, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON, has felicitated Muslims in Kwara State, across Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448 AH.

In a goodwill message issued to mark the commencement of the new Islamic calendar, Prof. Sulaiman described the Hijrah as a period for deep spiritual reflection, renewal of faith and recommitment to the noble virtues exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The former Special Adviser on Health Matters to the Kwara State Governor noted that the historic migration of the Prophet from Makkah to Madinah remains a timeless lesson in sacrifice, perseverance, patience, tolerance and unwavering trust in Allah.

According to him, Muslims should use the occasion to strengthen their devotion to Allah and embrace values that promote peaceful coexistence, unity, compassion and service to humanity.

“The message of Hijrah reminds us of the importance of moral uprightness, peaceful coexistence, unity and dedication to the common good.

As Muslims, we must continue to reflect these values in our daily lives and interactions with others,” he said.

Prof. Sulaiman also called on Muslims to offer prayers for lasting peace, security and sustainable development in Kwara State and Nigeria, stressing the need for collective efforts toward nation-building and social harmony.

He further encouraged the faithful to extend kindness and support to the less privileged, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, noting that compassion and generosity remain essential teachings of Islam.

The APC stalwart prayed for Allah’s guidance, mercy and abundant blessings upon Muslims as they begin the new Islamic year, expressing hope that Hijrah 1448 AH would usher in renewed hope, good health, prosperity and spiritual fulfillment for all.

“May Almighty Allah grant all Muslims a blessed and prosperous New Year filled with mercy, good health, peace and abundant blessings,” he prayed.
