We can defeat Banditry, insecurity, criminal activities through information sharing – Olokuku

A frontline traditional ruler & peace advocate, Alaiyeluwa Kabiyesi Oba Samuel Abioye Oyebode, JP the Olokuku of Okuku in Odo-otin LGA of Osun State has emphasized that if the traditional institution together with the security apparatus in each council area can re-arrange its security architecture, share intelligence & collaborate effectively at grassroots the security challenges bedelivering our country will be defeated.

Hear the Monarch, “from the point of information gathering and sharing all this nonsense can be sorted when the local vigilantes are properly equipped, security agencies are properly briefed on strange movements/faces in our communities, the youth organizations alsopartners in areas of gathering & sharing information with the security agencies, definitely, these undesirable elements will be defeated totally.

The Royal father in a media chat with National moonlight correspondent in his magnificent palace recently explained, “security is everybody’s business when you see something, say something to the security agencies/LG Vigilante group(s). There must be restriction of movements within the communities between 11:00pm & 5:00AM on daily basis while the security operatives go round the town intermittently within the midnight to see that the area is calm”, Kabiyesi emphasized.

The traditional ruler assured that if this social vices are tamed, “socio-economic life of our people will improve at grassroot. Our farmers will be able to go to farm, traders to market and there will be bountiful harvest in our communities. Our people will be better for it”, Oba Oyebode said.

The Octogenarian Royal Father advised politicians to consider laudable programmes and projects for their people while considering town hall meetings regularly to discuss the plights of their people, “the need to have a platform to have direct contact/interaction with the electorates becomes sacrosanct in a democratic setting. That way the electorates/voters civil engagement will be enhanced with their representative at state & national levels while accountability & two way communication channels and feedback will be achieved.

Oba Oyebode thanked God for the life of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola an illustrious son of the town who turns Seventy-Five (75) years in good health “the celebrant is a prince from a ruling house in Okuku, who has been kind to my household, the palace and entire people of Okuku, he was the chairman of the microfinance bank and he initiated several projects and programmes that are of indelible milestones. We love and appreciate him & our prayers and felicitations are with him and his family”, the over four decades natural ruler of Odo-Otin LGA, assured.
