Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the cash backing for the 2025 promotion exercise for eligible teaching and non-teaching staff of the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), reaffirming his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare and career development.
The approval is expected to enable qualified officers to enjoy the financial benefits of their promotions in line with the state’s public service guidelines.

Reacting to the development, the Executive Chairman of TESCOM, Mallam Bello Tauheed Abubakar, expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRazaq for his unwavering support for the education sector and his consistent commitment to improving the welfare of teachers and other personnel under the Commission.
According to the chairman, the approval further demonstrates the Governor’s resolve to ensure that hardworking and deserving workers receive the benefits of their promotions without unnecessary delays.
Bello recalled that when Governor AbdulRazaq assumed office, the state inherited a backlog of unpaid promotion arrears covering the period from 2015 to 2020. He noted that the Governor had since approved and provided cash backing for promotions from 2015 through 2025, describing the feat as unprecedented in the history of Kwara State.
He assured eligible staff that the Commission would immediately begin the necessary administrative procedures to facilitate the seamless implementation of the approved promotion cash backing in accordance with established government regulations.
The TESCOM chairman urged members of staff to remain committed to their duties, maintain discipline, and continue to demonstrate professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities, stressing that the AbdulRazaq administration remains committed to rewarding diligence and excellence in service.
He also reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to fairness, transparency, and efficiency in carrying out its statutory responsibilities, expressing confidence that the approval would further boost staff morale and improve service delivery across public secondary schools in Kwara State.
