Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Mashood Mustapha, Wakili of Ilorin Emirate, as the Ameerul Hajj for the state’s 2027 Muslim pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, THE PRIME NEWS reports.
The appointment was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abdulrafiu Agboola.

Mashood Mustapha, popularly known as MM, is a businessman, former public office holder and community leader. He is the Chairman of Crystal Group of Companies and served as a member of the House of Representatives between 2011 and 2015.
He also previously served as a member of the Kwara State Executive Council.
The newly appointed Ameerul Hajj is an alumnus of Kwara State Polytechnic, Lagos State University and Rome Business School, Italy.
As Ameerul Hajj, Mustapha is expected to coordinate the state’s 2027 Hajj operations in collaboration with relevant statutory bodies and government agencies at various levels.
The appointment places him at the head of the state’s delegation for the pilgrimage and comes with responsibility for coordinating the welfare and overall affairs of Kwara pilgrims during the exercise.
