Osun Governor, Adeleke, Quits PDP

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has announced his resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This was made known in an official statement issued by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.

The resignation, which took effect on November 4, 2025, was communicated in a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 2, Sagba Abogunde, in Ede North Local Government Area of Osun State.

In the letter personally signed by Governor Adeleke, he attributed his decision to the ongoing crisis within the national leadership of the party.

“Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the PDP with immediate effect,” the governor wrote.

Governor Adeleke expressed gratitude to the party for the platform it provided throughout his political career, including his election as Senator representing Osun West and his eventual emergence as Governor of Osun State.

“I thank the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a Senator (Represented Osun West) and as Governor of Osun State,” he stated.

The statement did not disclose Governor Adeleke’s next political move, leaving the public and political observers anticipating further developments.
