Nigerian striker, Taiwo Awoniyi has completed his move from Nottingham Forest to newly promoted Premier League side Coventry City, THE PRIME NEWS reports.
The 29-year-old forward joins Coventry after four seasons with Nottingham Forest, where he made a significant contribution to the club’s return to and survival in the Premier League.
Reports from ESPN and other outlets indicate that the deal is worth around £17 million, rather than the £9 million initially reported.

Awoniyi joined Forest from Union Berlin in 2022 for a then-club-record fee of £17.2 million. During his spell at the City Ground, the Nigeria international scored 21 Premier League goals across four seasons.
His departure marks the end of a memorable chapter with Forest, where he became a popular figure among supporters. The striker was reportedly given a warm farewell by the club and its fans before completing his move to Coventry.
At Coventry, Awoniyi will link up with manager Frank Lampard as the club prepares for its return to the Premier League. His arrival is expected to strengthen Coventry’s attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
The move also provides Awoniyi with an opportunity to revive his career after a spell disrupted by injuries and competition for places at Forest.
Coventry will begin their Premier League campaign against Arsenal on August 21, with Awoniyi expected to add experience and physical presence to the newly promoted side’s attack.
