Arsenal have confirmed the signing of England international Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace on a long-term contract, marking a return to north London for the 27-year-old whose football journey began in the Gunners’ academy.
Eze joins after a successful five-year spell at Selhurst Park, where he made more than 150 appearances and played a pivotal role in the club’s historic FA Cup triumph earlier this year. In May, he etched his name into Palace folklore by scoring the decisive goal in their 1-0 final victory over Manchester City.
His career has been one of steady progression. After emerging as a standout talent at Queens Park Rangers, where he won the club’s Player of the Year award in 2020, he moved to Palace that summer and quickly developed into one of the Premier League’s most dynamic playmakers.

Eze has also made an impact on the international stage, earning 11 caps for England since his senior debut in 2023. He netted his first goal in a 3-0 victory over Latvia during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Confirming the deal on the club’s website on Saturday, Arsenal’s Sporting Director Andrea Berta described Eze as “a creative and explosive talent with huge technical quality.”
He praised the midfielder’s experience and character, noting: “There has been excellent teamwork across the club to make this transfer happen and we are very confident Eberechi will be an important addition to our squad as we continue to build for success.”
Manager Mikel Arteta also expressed delight at the signing, calling Eze “a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in our attacking game.” He added: “His journey, his mentality, and his ambition are exactly what we want in our team, and we love how much it means to him and his family to be joining our club.”
The midfielder, who will wear Arsenal’s iconic number 10 shirt, is expected to link up with his new teammates after the Gunners’ Premier League clash against Leeds United this weekend.
Arsenal noted that the move is still subject to regulatory processes before being finalised.
