The Convener of the Kwara Women Integrity Association (KIWA), Alhaja Aminat Folake, has expressed strong support for the governorship ambition of Prof. Wale Sulaiman ahead of the 2027 elections, describing his emergence as a source of hope, particularly for women across the state.
In a statement, Folake said the decision of Prof. Sulaiman to formally join the race through the purchase of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms represents more than a political move, but a reflection of a life journey that resonates with many ordinary citizens.
According to her, Prof. Sulaiman’s story embodies the possibility of rising from humble beginnings to achieve excellence through hard work, discipline and integrity, noting that his background makes him relatable to the struggles of everyday people.

She emphasized that beyond his global reputation in the medical field, what distinguishes him is a transparent record of service and credibility, qualities she said are critical at a time when public trust in leadership is often tested.
Folake also highlighted his long-standing support for vulnerable groups, including widows, market women, artisans and underserved communities, describing his interventions as impactful and consistent rather than symbolic.
She noted that his engagement with grassroots communities has built a strong connection with the people, cutting across different parts of Kwara State and reinforcing his growing acceptance.
“At this crucial point in our political journey, Kwarans have an opportunity to choose a leader who understands the realities of the people and is committed to inclusive development,” she said.
Speaking on behalf of women in the state, Folake added that Prof. Sulaiman’s vision aligns with the aspirations of many women seeking leadership that prioritises dignity, inclusion and shared progress.
She concluded that his candidacy represents not just political ambition, but a commitment to empathy-driven leadership capable of delivering meaningful development across Kwara State.
