Kwara-born Nigerian forward Sulaiman Alabi, popularly known as “Jojo,” has completed a move to Armenian club Sardarapat FC, marking a new chapter in his professional football career, THE PRIME NEWS reports.
The talented striker secured the European switch after overcoming a challenging period last season, earning an opportunity to showcase his abilities on the international stage.
Sardarapat FC, one of Armenia’s leading clubs, reportedly identified Jojo through his impressive performance records and highlight videos before inviting him for assessment.
The former El-Kanemi Warriors forward wasted little time in making an impression, convincing the club’s technical crew during a brief trial.
After just two days of training, he was deemed a good fit for the team’s project and was offered a contract.
Speaking after completing the move following Thursday’s training session, Jojo expressed gratitude for the opportunity and reflected on the support he received during difficult moments.
”Alhamdulillah for everything. I just want to thank God for this opportunity and also thank everyone who stood by me during the difficult time,” he said.
The Nigerian attacker is expected to make his competitive debut for Sardarapat FC as early as Friday, August 7, when the club takes on Ararat in a league fixture.
Jojo’s move is expected to provide him with a fresh platform to revive his career while flying the flag for Kwara State and Nigerian football in Europe.
