KWARTMA, FRSC rescue accident victim, restore traffic flow at Oko-Olowo

The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have swiftly responded to a road traffic accident along the Oko-Olowo–Peke Expressway in Ilorin, evacuating the victim and restoring normal traffic flow, THE PRIME NEWS reports.

The accident reportedly occurred when a vehicle travelling from the Maadi axis swerved and collided with another vehicle approaching from the Oko-Olowo axis, resulting in traffic congestion along the busy route.

Following the crash, a tow truck was deployed to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway, clearing the obstruction and facilitating the smooth movement of motorists.

FRSC personnel also evacuated the victim to a nearby hospital for medical attention, while KWARTMA officers took charge of traffic management at the scene to ensure the safety of motorists and other road users during the recovery operation.

The prompt intervention of both agencies helped to minimise the impact of the crash, ease the resulting congestion and restore normal traffic movement along the affected route.

The development underscores the importance of rapid inter-agency response in managing road emergencies and protecting the lives of road users.

KWARTMA urged motorists to exercise caution, obey traffic regulations and avoid dangerous driving practices to reduce the risk of road crashes across the state.
