Shakhtar Donetsk confirm Stamford Bridge for Champions League home matches

Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk have confirmed that they will play their UEFA Champions League home matches at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge this season.

The club said the decision provides a special opportunity to host European fixtures at one of football’s most famous venues.

As reported by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X on Friday, the Ukrainian club was quoted as saying, “Shakhtar Donetsk will play Champions League home games at Stamford Bridge this season.

“Playing our Champions League home matches at Stamford Bridge is a special opportunity for Shakhtar. We are grateful to Chelsea Football Club for the opportunity to host our games at this special venue”

Shakhtar also expressed gratitude to Chelsea for allowing them to use the London stadium for their European home games.

The arrangement means Shakhtar will welcome their Champions League opponents at Stamford Bridge rather than their usual home ground, as they continue to compete in Europe’s premier club competition.
