Eid-el-Maulud: Kwara NSCDC deploys 1,200 personnel for peaceful celebration

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has deployed 1,200 personnel across the state to strengthen security and ensure a peaceful and orderly celebration of Eid-el-Maulud, THE PRIME NEWS reports.

The deployment, approved by the State Commandant, Commandant Abbas Ndah Mohammed, in a statement issued by the spokesman of the command, ASC I Ayoola Michael Shola in Ilorin on Monday.

covers strategic locations across the state, including places of worship, markets, motor parks, major roads, Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, recreational centres and other public gathering points.

The Command said personnel from specialised units, including the Special Female Squad, Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Agro Rangers and CBRNE Unit, have also been placed on heightened alert to respond swiftly to emerging security concerns during the celebration.

Commandant Mohammed urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies throughout the festivities. He also called on members of the public to promptly report suspicious persons, movements or activities to the appropriate authorities.

While congratulating Muslim faithful across Kwara State on the occasion, the Commandant urged them to celebrate peacefully and use the Maulud celebration as an opportunity to promote unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

The NSCDC reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property while ensuring a safe environment for residents and visitors throughout the celebration.
